Sealed and lubricated (salt) track chains

Bulldozers, crawlers, or track loaders usually use sealed and lubricated steel chains due to the high proportion of travel. The bulldozer or crawler chains are locked with a split end link, also known as a split master. The chain lock therefore consists of a diagonally split chain link, one at the beginning of the track chain and the other at the end. Once assembled, the steel chain is bolted to the master grouser shoe and closed.

The oil circulates continuously during driving through the oil channel in the pin. The chain link is sealed against oil loss to ensure the best possible lubrication.
